William "Billy" Beveridge Liddell

About the Billy Liddell Memorial Group

What's it all about?

We are a group of local people who believe that the life and achievements of Billy Liddell have not been recognised to the extent they should be. This led to us setting up the Billy Liddell memorial Group.

The group's aims are

• Campaign for the erection of a fitting and permanent memorial to Billy Liddell in Townhill.

• Campaign for the election of Billy Liddell into the Scottish Football Association’s Hall of Fame.

• To raise awareness of the life and achievements of Billy Liddell, as a role model for young people today.

• To encourage the young people of Townhill and surrounding area to participate in sport.
